Don't worry about taking a slight pause from your time in the pool. The skills and activities can be transfered to things you do in your every day life at home. This is a video of my daughter when she was just 4 months old "holding on" to a wooden toy box. To be able to stand and suport herself totally unaided I feel is 100% down to her early beginnings in the pool. How are you adapting what you have learnt in the pool at home?

Another skill that can be practiced at home for our toddlers is "Monkey, Monkey, Monkey" as perfectly demonstrated by the lovely Ella here at home! We'd love to see some pictures and videos of how your time out of the pool practicing skills you've previously learnt is going!

Facebook, meet Clara! Selma, Clara's mum, wrote in to us with this fantastic story that we simply had to share... Clara is a preemie baby and is small for her age. She started swimming at 6 months. Fast forward to now, she is 15 months old, she gets so excited when we sing the Water Babies songs and on a recent trip to the beach showed everyone her skills splashing in a little pool (in the pool we go kick, kick, kick!). To prepare her for the bath or shower we sing the songs and she is full of smiles and loves her time in any water! In the pool these days she is full of chat and smiles, is super confident and loves her Water Babies buddies. It’s made such an incredible difference to our routine and her first year. I can’t even imagine what she’ll be like over the years in the water. We’ve had the best start possible.

It's Water Babies Wednesday! Each Wednesday for the next few weeks we're going to introduce you a little more to some of our amazing team! Today lets meet Office Manager Susan! How long have you worked for Water Babies? Coming up to 14 years! I’m one of the longest standing administrators in the Water Babies UK network!... What did you do before Water Babies? After studying Animal Science at University I floated around a few jobs to pass the time before relocating to Wales with my boyfriend (now husband). After moving to Wales I started with Water Babies as a fresh faced 22 year old and soon realised that I was much more suited to a warm office/pool side than being outside with animals (although I do still love everything animal related but keep that for the weekends). Do you have any pets or children? I have 2 children, William aged 3 and Bethan aged 2. We have 3 Springer Spaniels who keep us active; Jess, Roxy and Megan. What did you study at College or University? BSc in Animal Management and Welfare Science What do you enjoy most about working for Water Babies? I love how varied the job is. I’m usually found at my desk working away on the admin side of things and answering the phones but I do love to get out and about for meet and greets, photo shoots and baby shows. Meeting all of our little Water Babies and their grown-ups is always a pleasure; seeing them enjoy their first lesson, watching them in higher chapters and seeing how well they’re doing or hearing about how they’ve overcome the water wobblesit’s something different every day. Chatting to expectant parents and hearing their excitement when you tell that what Water Babies is about is simply magical. Quick Fire round Marmite lover or hater? Lover Favourite Movie? You can’t make me choose! Finally, what’s the most interesting thing about you? I’ve owned a variety of pets over the years: a corn snake called Maverick, a bearded dragon called Ernie, a leopard gecko called Diva, a budgie called Billy, a cat called Eddie (my fur baby who I miss everyday), our 3 dogs, and not forgetting the hamsters, rats and fish from my younger years. I haven’t been able to get my kunekune pig yet but it’s on my list, might need a bigger garden first!

Hey Facebook, meet 13-month-old Sarah! She’s the absolute definition of a warrior Water Baby with a truly inspiring story of triumph and strength against the odds... Just three months after having open-heart surgery, 6-month-old Sarah began her Water Babies journey with us and straight away started building on her physical and cardiovascular health. Nearly 9 months later and after some ups and downs, she’s built up an incredible level of confidence in the water. Last night the Prime Minister announced a national lockdown, which means that we will once again be pausing all of our lessons and photoshoots from 5 January 2021. Whilst it’s not the start we’d hoped for, we’d like to thank you for your unconditional and continued support throughout 2020. We’ll pause our activity just as we did before, during the March and November lockdowns and pick up when we get the green light to reopen. Just like we did last year, we'll be here for yo...u every step of the way, to ensure your little one continues to build their water confidence at home. We'll be creating more Live content across our social platforms, sharing water skills you can do at home, and our Water Babies Learn series is already on our YouTube channel, which you can view now and start practising. Ali was my tutor on the training course so has been a big part of my WB journey BUT we go back abit further than that. Ali was actually my P.E teacher back in secondary school! (Around 15 years ago )I was definitely that annoying student always hanging around the P....E dept generally being a pest She left to join WB and I was GUTTED but we kept in touch over the years until a crazy twist of fate reunited us again last year (and now I’m back to hanging around generally being a pest ) She was my favourite teacher back then and still one of my favourite people today Super cheesy but I’m pretty sure it was destined that I’d end up at Water Babies"

I love that in my Job I get to see every emotion in just one lesson all the while meeting really interesting people, young and old.
