With the latest guidelines released on Friday night by the authorities, stricter social distancing is applicable to services where people may gather in numbers of less than 250. We were able to mobilise our team at short notice to feasibly implement as best as we can, clear markings within our Westway venue. We hope our efforts will be appreciated by all parents and we also seek understanding and patience during this difficult time. Do attend swim class preferably with as few family members accompanying the child/children as possible. Dear parents, we are keeping a close watch on the updated levels as noticeably, the readings are worse today. Currently as of 2pm, the 1-hr PM2.5 readings are in the Elevated band at 110 in the south region (where Westway is). Lessons will be suspended if levels cross into Band 3 (High). We sincerely hope not for this to happen, and pray that current levels will reduce for the remaining three to four hours of classes for this afternoon.

20th Sept 2019, Friday Haze Management Measures With reference to the recent haze situation, Little Swim School will suspend swim classes should the 1-hr PM 2.5 readings cross into Band III (High). ... It has been recommended that when in need of making a decision to head outdoors for an activity in the next few hours, one should be referring to the one-hour PM2.5 concentration readings instead. The NEA states that the one-hour PM2.5 is a good indicator of current air quality. Source: https://www.todayonline.com//explainer-haze-threat-back-he The 24-hr PSI values are of an average value over a 24 hour period, and can take a longer time to rise and reflect accurately in the case of a worsening air quality situation that is deteriorating with each passing hour. This works likewise too, in the case of an improving air quality situation, in which the high values do not correspond with the 1-hr PM2.5 readings that would show a current state of improvement. For our Yio Chu Kang and Sembawang teaching venues, we will refer to the latest and most recent hourly readings of the 1-hr PM2.5 values for the North region. For our Queenstown and Westway teaching venues, we will refer to the latest and most recent hourly readings of the 1-hr PM2.5 values for the South region. Clarification update on summarised point concerning closure of children’s pools by gov.sg: Applies to only public swimming complexes which see a high volume of users and each complex is subject to a max capacity of 250 people per swimming complex at any one time, in line with the need to maintain social distancing in public places. Swimming lessons at public pools still continue to carry on as usual subject to the entry capacity, so queues are expected upon entry. For our Westway indoor pool, it is a private pool and given our student and parent numbers, within any given hour, we are well far off the 250 capacity guideline. Be assured that your child and you are safe while attending swim lessons at Little Swim School.

Dear parents, with the evolving Wuhan coronavirus situation, Little Swim School remains vigilant and requests the cooperation from all parents and students as per the points listed: 1) Do fill the travel history and travel plan document that has been sent via email. 2) Your child/children should not attend swim class if they are unwell. ... 3) Likewise, parents, family members, and/or domestic helpers, who are feeling unwell should stay at home. 4) Limit the number of adult guardians accompanying your child/children to swim class. Between one to two adult guardians accompanying is recommended. 5) Temperature taking will be done for everyone entering the swim school venue, regardless of age. Act responsibly, for everyone can play their part in this battle. Thank you.

SUSPENSION OF SWIM CLASSES With the latest directives issued by the government authorities, and after seeking further clarification from SportSG, which oversees sporting activities inclusive of swimming lessons, it is with a heavy heart that we are required to suspend swimming lessons at our Westway centre, as well as our swim programmes at ActiveSG complexes of Queenstown and Yio Chu Kang. The period of suspension will be from 26 March 2020, 2359hrs up till 30 April 2020, in accordance to the advisory issued by Sport Singapore as at 26 March 2020.

Holla parents! Swim classes are on as usual! At our Westway private facility, we have been able to put checks in place, limited access only to registered swim school users, and a small learning population.
