We have received lots of enquiries with regards to the re-opening of our Hounsdown Pool. At the moment this pool remains closed and we do not currently have an opening date. We know that for the users of this pool, this is frustrating and you are keen to get back to your lessons. We are waiting for notification from Hounsdown School and are in regular contact with them. We are working hard behind the scenes, speaking with the school and sending them all the information they require. We are sorry we cannot give an opening date yet but we will update you as soon as we know.

As the end of the year approaches we just wanted to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. Thank you to each and everyone of our swimmers families for your support this year. It really does mean the world to us. So let's welcome in 2021, here's hoping it is a great year for us all.

Wow, this month has been fantastic and we have loved welcoming all our families back to their swimming lessons. Everything has worked well with the new measures we have put in place at our pools. We are currently teaching 1451 children to swim each week and still have more pools to open Thank you for your continued support, it means so much to us.

We just wanted to remind parents of the safety rules currently in place at each of our pools. We politely ask that you adhere to the following measures to ensure the safety of everyone visiting our pools. Keep your distance and only 1 parent per family only on poolside. Follow one way system noting entry and exit points. Adults and Children over 11 to wear a mask on site (except on poolside) We also ask that if you are displaying any of the coronavirus symptoms, not to attend your lesson.

Wow, just wow, Thank you so much for this amazing feedback. It's so good to hear just how much you are all loving being back at your swim lessons and you feel safe to do so.

We have taken the decision to re-schedule swimming assessments until next year. We feel that with the disruption to your child's lessons over the months it would be unfair to assess them on their return, as we usually do. We would rather the teachers put all efforts into getting the children back up to speed, and moving forward, than spend time on assessments. Thus allowing the children more time to master and complete aspects of their swimming badges. We will keep you up to date with when these will be done next year. Sorry if this disappoints anyone but we hope you understand why. If you have any individual concerns about this please contact the office. Thank you for your understanding.

LOCKDOWN UPDATEAnd here we go again! In light of the impending lockdown we wanted to confirm that the last swimming lessons this week will be on Wednesday 4th November. Any lessons from Thursday 5th will then pause until the end of the lockdown period. We are so grateful for the support you all continue to give us and we will keep you up to date as soon as we have any more information. Please keep an eye out for an email from us this week too. Our 12 Days of Christmas Top Tip 1 - Remember to bring your child something warm to change into at the end of their lesson. With the chilly nights setting in and some of the pool changing rooms closed, if they have a onesie or dressing gown to put on this will help to keep them warm on the journey home.

As the days and evenings are getting colder we recommend that you bring a dressing gown, hooded towel or onesie so that your children can pop this on once they have finished their lesson. Some of our pools currently have no changing facilities so this will help with keeping them warm and cosy on the journey home. We have always prided ourselves on our small class sizes. Unlike some swim schools we never normally have more than 6 in a class and to be honest it is usually less than this in most of our pools. Here are a few words from one of our Instructors, Gemma about returning to teaching lessons. "It wasn’t just children and parents feeling anxious about the return to swimming, many of us teachers were too! But I definitely didn’t need to be. Teaching at Bury Farm has been great. The one way system works brilliantly, the children love having specific coloured spots to sit on or be near to during lessons and the face shields provided for wearing whilst in the water has given extra confidence to work with children who require a closer teaching experience. Parents have been extremely respectful of all the rules and every child has loved coming back to their lessons, just as much as I have loved coming back to teach!"

Our Andark pool in Swanwick is now open again and welcoming children back to their weekly swim lessons. Aaron Rogers, Swim School Academy Director and Swim Instructor said "It has been a great few weeks back at Andark teaching again. This pool is very popular with all our swimmers and the new safety and hygiene measures in place are working really well. The kids are having great fun and we are too".

Introducing our Portsmouth pool located at St Edmunds Catholic School which reopened at the beginning of September and it WAS great to be back. This pool is very popular with our swimmers. 12 Days of Christmas Top Tip 6 - Play 'Ready, Go, Splash' with your baby at bath time. Just say your little ones name, then the words Ready, Go, Splash’ and then pour some water over their face. This is a great game to get them used to the feeling of water over their face and prepares them for their time in the pool.

For the safety of parents, children and staff at our pools, we ask that adults and children over 11 wear a mask when on site. I.e. as you leave your car, a mask must be worn at all times, (unless exempt and when seated on poolside). Also please use the hand sanitiser (where provided) on entering the buildings. Thank you for your cooperation, it is so important everyone continues to feel safe attending their lessons.
