CHAPTER 1 - It won’t get any dirtier than this... This summer we rushed to help a commercial building owner with tenants who had a sewage back up underneath a concrete floor. Found that the plumbing had various defects. In the second picture you can see that the plumbing was rising...no flow. A bunch of the fill washed out and left large voids under the concrete floor. Cut all that floor out and compacted crushed stone and poured new concrete. New floor drain and clean out. Raised concrete pad is to add some square footage to the wood decking for a salon build out. The pad will be framed and a doorway, in the corner of the raised pad, will create a hallway between the tenant garage and stairwell. Stay tuned for chapter 2.

Salon Remodel Chapter 3 - Straighten out 100 years of construction history. Before we could tackle the underlayment, we had to take the rolls and dips out of the floor. Framing this would have been a nightmare, and the structural integrity needed addressed. See that hole there?! That was our home for a few days. But we made use of our time down there by leveling the floor and and giving the joists a better resting point. We use lasers and we love them. They are extremely helpful in these situations. In the end, we took a floor, inches out of level, and gave the flooring guys something flat to work with. Stay tuned for more.
