Kia ora e te whnau, Hope you are all well inside your bubble. We the KASC whnau just wanted to check in on you all and see how everyone is going during this isolation. I just want to say to all you awesome whanau and swimmers out there have a break spend time with your loved ones inside your bubble, phone a family member or friend that you haven't talked to in a while. This is the time where we can reconnect with those love ones via those different media outlets. So that'...s my task to you all, ring, Skype, FaceTime or even house party someone or a group of friends that you haven't talked to in ages, because I know that, that call will make their day so much more better. He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tngata, he tngata, he tngata this simple translates to what is the most important thing in the world? It is the people, it is the people, it is the people. Kia Ora Everyone, We the KASC would like to firstly say a huge thank you for all the amazing support you have given us over 2020 season. We know that it hasn't been the easiest of years with Covid-19 but we all pulled through to make it out on the other side. If you have been down to the pools lately you would have noticed that the Kawerau District Council has started rebuilding the old changing rooms into our new Swimming Clubrooms. It is great to see the progress that is ...being made each day. So a huge thank you to the KDC team for your ongoing support. We look forward to continuing this relationship into 2021 and many years to come. Lastly we wish you all a Meri Kirihimete and Happy New Year. Kia Ora All, Over the last three days we had four of our swimmers compete in the 2020 New Zealand Junior Aquaknights in Rotorua. It was a full on weekend with Highs and Lows, but that comes with swimming. We all just want to say a huge congrats to all of them for an amazing weekend. They represented their club and whanau and made us all very proud. There results are as follows: Amarni Davis ... 50m Breast - 4.01 seconds seconds taken off 100m IM - Time staying the same 50m Free - 1.49 seconds taken off 50m Back - 6.33 seconds taken off 50m Fly - 2.45 seconds taken off 100m Free - Time staying the same Kaila Davis 50m Breast - 7.65 seconds taken off 100m IM - Time staying the same 50m Back - 2.32 seconds taken off Te Ao o Te Rangi Emery 100m IM - Time staying the same 50m Free - 1.01 seconds taken off 50m Back - 1.40 seconds taken off 200m Free - Time staying the same 50 m Fly - Time staying the same 100m Free - 0.83 seconds taken off Paraire Walker 50m Breast - 1.71 seconds taken off 100m IM - Time staying the same 50m Free - Time staying the same 50m Back - 0.58 seconds taken off The club would also like to give a huge thank you to our amazing swimming whanau. *** ATTENTION ATTENTION*** The second half of our 2019/2020 Afternoon Swimming Season will start on the 3rd February 2020. You child will still be swimming in their same class at the same time and day. **Morning Swimming** In light of everything that is going on we have decided to finish morning swimming early this year. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. But for the safety of all our morning swimmers, we have decided that this is the best decision. At this stage all other Swimming is still going ahead. This means that we will not be having any swimming until then. Sorry for this inconvenience but the safety of you all is more important. ... *** Attention Attention *** Our 2020 February Learn to Swim will be kicking off on 17th February til the 28th February. 10 lessons for $70.00 per swimmer... Lessons are 30 minuets long and can choose between two time frames of: 5:30pm - 6:00pm or 6:00pm - 6:30pm We will not be doing enrolment nights as we have found in the past that number turning up has been low. From the 3rd February you can pick up your enrolment forms from the lifeguards at the Kawerau Town Pools or up from one of our coaching team poolside 4:00pm - 6:00pm This year we will not be doing our under 5s we are sorry for this inconvenience. Kia Ora All, Our Afternoon classes start tomorrow Monday 3rd February. We have no room in any of our classes at this stage and we are sorry for that. Your child will be in the same class as last year unless has been told otherwise, if you are unsure please contact Carol on 027 220 8776. ... Our Learn to Swim starts on Monday 17th February as well, and you can get forms from the Kawerau Town Pools from tomorrow 3:30pm onwards from on our amazing swimming team.
